Recording’s going well! We’re about three fourths done! It’s been a ton of fun meeting together a couple times a week and laying down tracks. Since we’re doing it all ourselves, in our own cozy home-made studio, we have the freedom to take it at our own pace, have fun, experiment with ideas, and take the time to really get everything sounding just the way we want it. It’s all love and good vibes going into this album. See for yourself in these photos in this month’s Dear Indugu newsletter.
Nanobot Rock Reviews discuss us in their new podcast, ”I like them as a folk band. I think Jesse Strickman has a solid voice and has some pretty meaningful lyrics…its kind of got that awe shucks folky feeling that we’ve come to experience out of the Bay Area.”
Scroll to 21min to hear them discuss our group!
They describe our song ‘Frame of Gold’ saying, “It does an awesome job of just carrying you and then gently settling you back down to Earth at the very end.” Thanks Nanobot Rock Reviews!
Lemon Tree Sessions is a series of stripped down acoustic performances shot in Berkeley, CA by a film/media duo under a lemon tree in their backyard. The project emerged over the last few months and they have had about a dozen acts from the SF Bay Area music scene perform already. So far we are the most band members they’ve fit under the lemon tree at a time! We performed “Core of a Being” a song off our upcoming acoustic album. Enjoy the video!
Though our group is taking a break from shows to buckle down and focus on new material, our singer Jesse is still out there playing solo around the Bay Area! Up next he’s playing at a big mixed media event on Jan 26th!
Though we’re taking a break from shows as a band, our singer Jesse is still doing his singer/songwriter thang! He was asked to play at the Lemon Tree Sessions‘ first annual concert. The Lemon Tree Sessions, put on by a film/media duo in the East Bay, are high quality artistic videos of bands doing one stripped down acoustic song – under a lemon tree! They’re fantastic. Expect to see our Lemon Tree Session out soon. And come celebrate their artistic cause by joining us on Dec 29th!
December 14th at Awaken marks our LAST show before we take a break to work on new material and record. So come catch our last hoorah! Buy tickets here.
We’re playing a FREE SHOW the night before Thanksgiving and it’s lookin’ like it’s gonna be a fun one! See you there, Bay Area!

Turns out our music video for “The Outlier” made it to 1 of 25 finalists for “Best Music Video by Oakland Musician” with over 2100 nominations for over 160 bands! If we win, we get a bunch of cool stuff like studio time, inclusion in the Oaktown Music Festival, inclusion in a live compilation album, etc. Right on, thanks for the support, community! Fingers crossed…
On another note, Jesse was interviewed on “Gypsy Poet Radio” about a week ago about his musical upbringing, influences, and more. Here’s the podcast:
